Salem Alsanousi

I am an Assistant Professor of Management in the College of Business Administration at Kuwait University. My research examines misconduct in entrepreneurial settings, with a focus on the risks startups create for workers, investors, and communities. I study whether and why startups engage in more misconduct than incumbent firms, how founder gender shapes the relationship between violations and firm survival, and how the speed to IPO affects post-IPO misconduct.

I earned my BSc in civil engineering at Kuwait University, my MBA in entrepreneurship and corporate innovation at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and my Ph.D. in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at London Business School. Before my graduate studies, I worked at The Avenues, Kuwait's largest retail, at Aayan Real Estate, and co-founded an interior design company.

Outside academia, I enjoy running, cycling, and playing tennis and padel.
